Creative Practice Review

A little like an art-school critique,
tailored to you and the work you're making

‍ ‍

Creative folks often benefit from having another creative person look at your work, ask the right questions and help you see what you might be too close to notice. The Creative Practice Review is a personalised, email-based critique, for artists, photographers and image-makers who want to develop their ideas, work through a creative block or gain a fresh and exterior perspective on work in progress.

Drawing on my formal education - Bachelor of Photography (Photography Studies College) and Masters of Contemporary Art (the VCA), and more than a decade of professional experience across fine art, fashion, editorial and commercial image-making, I bring an informed and professional visual perspective to the work you share with me. I'll look closely at what you're making, consider what you're exploring and creating, and respond with specific observations, questions and possibilities for further development. I'll tell you what I think is working, where I see potential, and what I’m curious to see you push deeper into.

Each review is personally considered and written by me in response to your work. It's an alternative to generic, AI-generated feedback. I am offering a real exchange with an experienced creative practitioner, grounded in the work itself. The aim isn't to prescribe you are formula or take the act of creation out of your hands. It's to help you think more deeply about your creative decisions and recognise the possibilities in your work that you might not have seen yourself.

To get started, you don't need to send me a finished portfolio or a perfectly articulated concept. Bring me something in its infancy, something you're unsure about, or something you simply want a new set of eyes on.

Your Review Includes

- Questions tailored to your work and intentions.
- A personalised written critique of approximately 800-1,200 words.
- Considered feedback on visual strengths, unresolved areas and opportunities for development.
- Suggested experiments or next steps.

Please Note
- The Creative Practice Review is an email only based critique.
- Once payment is received, I will email you a short submission form.

- Response time is 3-5 business days after receiving your completed submission.
- The consultation includes one follow-up email within seven days of receiving your feedback, limited to three brief clarification questions about the original consultation. The follow-up is intended to help you understand and work with the feedback, rather than provide an additional review of new material. Follow-up responses are sent within three business days. This is a one-off service. Reviewing additional work or providing further rounds of feedback requires a new booking.
- All feedback reflects my personal opinions, creative perspective and professional experience. It is offered as guidance, not as an absolute or definitive judgement of your work.
- You are responsible for deciding how to interpret and apply the feedback provided. Creative outcomes depend on many factors, and no particular result or outcome is guaranteed.
- Materials shared with me for the purpose of this service will be treated as confidential and will not be published or shared with others without your permission.
- You retain ownership of your original work. Any materials you share are used solely for the purpose of providing the purchased service, and no ownership rights are transferred to me.
